Review: Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side

Book: Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side By: Beth Fantaskey
Pages: 351 pages
Source: Bought
Synopsis:
The undead can really screw up your senior year ... Marrying a vampire definitely doesn’t fit into Jessica Packwood’s senior year “get-a-life” plan. But then a bizarre (and incredibly hot) new exchange student named Lucius Vladescu shows up, claiming that Jessica is a Romanian vampire princess by birth—and he’s her long-lost fiancĂ©. Armed with newfound confidence and a copy of Growing Up Undead: A Teen Vampire’s Guide to Dating, Health, and Emotions, Jessica makes a dramatic transition from average American teenager to glam European vampire princess. But when a devious cheerleader sets her sights on Lucius, Jess finds herself fighting to win back her wayward prince, stop a global vampire war—and save Lucius’s soul from eternal destruction.
My Thoughts:
Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side was a really good book considering it’s about vampires. It did go a little too fast for my taste though. I only got about three pages of Jessica’s life before the incredibly arrogant, yet hot Lucius Vladescu showed up.
Jessica (Antanasia) is the main character and I really liked her because she stood up for herself a lot. She didn’t want Lucius being her knight and shining armor all the time-Thank God. I could relate to her a ton because she wasn’t exactly popular in the school.
JGTDOTDS is a really great read for those who love vampires and for those who don’t. Plus the covers really pretty! I can’t wait to get the sequel (coming out next year) and Jekel loves Hyde (another book written by Beth).
