Review: The Eternal Ones by Kirsten Miller

Book: The Eternal Ones by Kirsten Miller
Pages:411 pages
Source: Bought
Synopsis:
What if love refused to die?
Haven Moore can’t control her visions of a past with a boy called Ethan, and a life in New York that ended in fiery tragedy. In our present, she designs beautiful dresses for her classmates with her best friend Beau. Dressmaking keeps her sane, since she lives with her widowed and heartbroken mother in her tyrannical grandmother’s house in Snope City, a tiny town in Tennessee. Then an impossible group of coincidences conspire to force her to flee to New York, to discover who she is, and who she was.
In New York, Haven meets Iain Morrow and is swept into an epic love affair that feels both deeply fated and terribly dangerous. Iain is suspected of murdering a rock star and Haven wonders, could he have murdered her in a past life? She visits the Ouroboros Society and discovers a murky world of reincarnation that stretches across millennia. Haven must discover the secrets hidden in her past lives, and loves¸ before all is lost and the cycle begins again.

My Thoughts: I’ve heard a lot of good things about this book, so I decided to pick up a copy. It was a really great read and I read it in about 3 ½ hours (which is pretty good). I was intrigued by the idea of past lives and stuff. Haven and Iain’s past love life was pretty interesting and I liked the whole gifted parts of it. The beginning was really slow and it stayed that way until the middle of the book, but after that, everything was fast paced.

I know that Haven and Iain ‘s past lives had already fallen in love with each other, but I think their relationship went way too quick for my taste. I mean, they basically just start making out when they see each other…it’s kind of weird.

I really like the way Kirsten writes and I hope she comes out with some more books! This story is one you don’t want to miss!

  1. This was an enjoyable and quick read! I didn't like how haven flip flopped every other page on who to trust, but to be fair, I was in doubt too.
    Thanks for the review.

  2. I've never read this or heard anything about it, but I've always wanted to read it! I'm not too keen on characters that have past love lives together -- even if they have this unmistakable pull, I still feel that romance should be something you grow into. Not see a dude then get all over him. Anyway, thanks for the review! :D I'm looking forward to reading this one! :)
