Synopsis:
I am a beast. A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog, but a horrible new creature who walks upright – a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster.
You think I’m talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It’s no deformity, no disease. And I’ll stay this way forever – ruined – unless I can break the spell.
Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I’ll tell you. I’ll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and a perfect life. And then, I’ll tell you how I became perfectly beastly.
My Thoughts:
I really had high hopes for this one with the buzz about the movie everywhere. I was somewhat disappointed with the romance in this book. It was WAY too cheesy and I felt sometimes like the BOY main character had the mind of a GIRL. Once Kyle fell in love with Lindy, he kept saying how in love he was with her every two or three paragraphs Now for the good things:
The plot was really interesting and that's basically what got me to read it. Flinn is very creative and uses his words wisely-other than the romance parts. This book gets 2 Stars. I recommend you read this if you like Beauty and the Beast.
Grade: 2 Stars
I agree. This book was little young. I still liked though. I think I gave it 3/5 on my site. But A Kiss In Time, her newest novel, is a bit better. You might want to check that one out.
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's on my list to get:)
ReplyDeleteInteresting review, I loved this book and yet I could totally see what you meant in this review. It was cheesy (the romance) and yet, for me, it still worked. I'm weird like that. =)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I found your blog through the blog hop and am a new follower. I look forward to reading more from you.
Happy blogging and reading!!
