Synopsis:
College freshman Claire Danvers has had enough of her nightmarish dorm situation. When Claire heads off-campus, the imposing old house where she finds a room may not be much better. Her new roommates don't show many signs of life, but they'll have Claire's back when the town's deepest secrets come crawling out, hungry for fresh blood.
My Thoughts:
I don’t usually like vampire stories, but I LOVED this book. Rachel Caine is an amazing author and I don’t regularly reread series’/books, but I did with this one. I’m on the second book now and I’m sad because I only have the first four books in the Morganville Vampire series:( That’s how much I loved this book.
Claire Danvers is a wonderful female protagonist. She is headstrong and very intelligent (she’s sixteen and going to college. Is that smart or what?). The way she becomes friends with the residents of the Glass House is intriguing to watch. Michael, Evie, and Shane are hilarious characters and hearing their conversations is great. My favorite character is Shane; he’s hot, protective, and funny.
The idea of having vampires control a city is exciting and I’m glad Rachel Caine decided to get this published.  Seeing the different kinds of vampires is interesting and I liked how there was a lot of that old fashioned vampire stuff in it and not that bull crap Twilight fairy princess theme inside of the story. Everything’s fresh and new and this book doesn’t let down. The only thing I didn’t like about it was that the end was way to cliff hanger-y.
Buy this series, like now.  I guarantee you will at least like it. I know that as soon as I get more money, I am getting the rest of the series. This book is superb.
