Synopsis:My Thoughts:
When Wendy Everly was six-years-old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. It isn't until eleven years later that Wendy discovers her mother might have been right. With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed - a world both beautiful and frightening, and Wendy's not sure she wants to be a part of it.
Switched is awesome.
This first book in the Trylle trilogy was the kind that is very rare-it made me keep reading until the end without any breaks. I can’t believe that I didn’t know about this series until St. Martins sent it to me for review.
The main character Wendy did strike me as a bit of an annoying character because of her immature tantrums and way of thinking, but other than that, I liked reading about her and her story. I liked the way that Amanda Hocking made each character their own person. My favorite was Rhys because he was really sweet and boy-next-doorish.
Hocking’s writing itself is absolutely beautiful. I felt really immersed in it because she described things very cleanly. The setting of Trylle was interesting and the way the author shimmied trolls and magic into the modern world made it seem realistic.
I absolutely cannot wait for the rest of the series and I’m glad that they’re all coming out this year. If you haven’t read Switched yet, get to it quickly!
