Author Interview: Jennifer Laurens

 Author Info:
Jennifer started writing when she was in her youth, choosing to hole up in her bedroom creating stories rather than going out to play with friends. She attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where she took classes in English and Theater Arts. Later, life took her back to her home in Palos Verdes, California where she worked in the entertainment business before meeting her husband and marrying. They have been married for 24 years.
Jennifer is the mother of six children, ages 11- 23, one of whom has autism. She fell back into writing after lengthy jaunts into the fascinating hobbies of ceramics, porcelain dolls, tole painting and muffin making.
Her perfect day is spent writing from 9 until 5 while her family is at school and at work. She considers herself blessed that most every day is perfect.

Interview:
I'm in blue, Jennifer's in orange.
MEDo you have a music play list for Heavenly?
Jenn: Yes, it's up at the site: www. heavenlythebook.com Each book has its own soundtrack :)
ME: What do you like to do when you're not writing?
Jenn: Write. Yes, I love writing that much. Travel. Shop. Eat. Cook.
ME: If you could live anywhere in the world and had an unlimited source of money, where would you live and what kind of house would you buy?
Jenn: No question about it, I'd live on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in a townhouse.
ME: What are your favorite YA books?
Jenn: Markus Zusak's Fighting Ruben Wolfe and Getting the Girl, Stolen by Lucy Christopher and Endless Love by Scott Spencer
ME: Who's your favorite character in Heavenly?
Jenn: Since Heavenly is based on my family experience living with a child with autism, and the characters are taken from my children I don't have a favorite - a mother can't.  HOWEVER, I love Matthias' calm he brings whenever he is around.
ME: Do you have any writing tips to give to the aspiring authors out there?
Jenn: Read across all genres, write as much as you can and join a writer's group with other writers, not friends. Other writers will give you honest feedback.

Thanks for stopping by the blog Jennifer! Readers: Be sure to pick up a copy of Heavenly by Jennifer Laurens and check out my review!
