This Week's Question:
"What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?"
"What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?"
My Answer:
Well, the plot is basically the story and without a story, you don't have characters. So I guess the plot is more important, but characters do have a big part in making the story exciting. It's a tie.
This Week's Question:
Carmel is studying web design... What did you study in college, or are currently studying and did it lead to your current 9 to 5 or are you doing something totally different?
My Answer:
I'm still a freshman in high school, but if I were to study something, I think it'd be archeology. I really want to travel the world and discover new things someday:)
Thanks for visiting!
Great answers :) travelling is so fun! I wish I could do more!

Hi! Hopping by and new follower ^^
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree that the plot is KEY for a story since it IS the story really, and it's what gets you hooked into and intrigued with the story. :)
cheers and happy reading

Hi Danna! Ahhh I've missed coming to your blog. My self-exile was horrible. :(
ReplyDeleteAnywhoo, enjoy college-less life while you can. Finals SUCK. I've consumed more caffeinated drinks and energy shots and I've cried/stressed over more things in my college career than I have my entire life. xD
Anywhoo, yeah, I'm kind of with you on that. I thought it was like a catch-22 - you can't have a good book without a good plot or good characters. :s Even the best plots won't pull through without at least decent characters. And without a good plot, even the most amazing characters won't pull through. Yeesh. :P
Here's my blog hop. Have a great Friday! <3
I agree it's def a tie. You can't really have one without the other. (That so reminds of the theme song for married with children):)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Hi! I'm a new follower. They do tie-in. I feel that characters make the plot. By the way, I love the polka dotted background. Very cute :)

I did not go to college, and I am currently retired. I worked for over 15 years in the secretarial division of Emery Air Freight in the 1960s and 1970s. I was a stay-at-home mom for the 1980s and 1990s, and now I am helping my daughter with her business, Tribute Books as the volunteer office manager.
ReplyDeleteJust hopping by. Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh me what a question this week.
ReplyDeleteI really think the characters are important. It makes me want to read the book if I want to know the characters. But a good plot with twists just makes it move along.
I just finished a degree in Biological Sciences and am still working on a degree in Humanities, History, and Religious Studies. What do I want to do when I grow up? I want to be the hottest historian on the history channel, national geographic, or discovery channel!
I'm launching a new reading challenge that you might be interested in, Morbid Romantica Challenge 2011.
Also today is the start of a Ridley's Giveaway where you can win a Hardcover copy of either Beautiful Creatures or Beautiful Darkness.

I studied film my first time around in college. Now I'm doing library science. I prefer characters over plot. But both are important. Happy Blog Hop.
ReplyDeleteHi Danna! I think archeology sounds like an awesome major. I was considering paleontology before I decided on English, and even now sometimes I wonder if I would enjoy going out into the desert to hunt for dinosaur bones more than sitting at home and reading books written by dead people. Hm...perhaps a dual major is in order? Ah well. Anyway, happy Friday!
